I’ve used Canva headers in some of my posts here at Guiding Tech and they absolutely add value (even the image on the top of this post was created using Canva). Yes, working with Canva will take longer than using Pablo or Spruce, but it will be far more rewarding. Example: I frequently use Canva to create headers for my articles. All you get is small, medium and large, that’s it. The one problem is that the font size isn’t very adjustable. You’ll find cool stuff from Merriweather to Roboto to Open Sans in there. What Pablo does have going for it are the font options. You can either select the stock images or upload your own. And given the kind of things people share via Buffer, such a tool was imminent. Pablo is a product of the social media management app Buffer. ![]() Only a couple of font options like modern, bold, or thin are available. You only get one text box that you can drag around the image. You are of course free to upload your own image. The only problem is you’ll need to deal with a watermark that credits the photographer. The great thing about the app is it lets you search through millions of royalty free images and lets you use them as a background in one click. The website already has a collection of scenic wallpapers ready to go. It’s not the most versatile or feature rich web tool though. Spruce is probably the easiest way to spice up your images.
